THE LAST KINGDOMS OF AHIRA

front.jpg

An epic story of a group of very unlikely heroes, that must unite with each other in hope to find a long lost ally. They must travel through deep valleys, tall mountains, and dangerous lands. They come upon many people and form alliances with some, and run in to others that are malice. Will they endure this quest? Will they be able to overcome this great darkness? If they do not find this ally, their homeland will be doomed to an awful fait.

We decided that we would write this story after reading The Lord of the Rings series and The Hobbit, which was written by J.R.R Tolkien.  Tolkien’s fantasy writings inspired us to write a book, taking place during a mythical time in age.

However, this story is not about, or has nothing to do with The Hobbit, the Lord of the Rings, or any of Tolkien’s other work.  In this story we don’t use or mention any names from Tolkien’s books, and all the names have been made up by us, or can be found in the dictionary.  And after much hard work, writing, and rewriting, we would eventually like to become even slightly as good of a writer as Tolkien.

We also got the idea for this story, when one late night we started sketching out a map, but with no intention of creating it into a book.  We then decided to name the land Dagon, but then later that night, we switched the name to Dangor.  After drawing the land of Dangor we added to it another larger land, Gorthon, and the seas.  Dangor and Gorthon are located within the continent, Ahira.  Once the light sketch was done, we noticed that it looked to dull and so we colored it in with colored pencils.

Our next step was to think of the plot, and coming up with the plot took us quite a while. After using the best plot idea, we then began to write down the story.  We have decided to make this story into two books.  The first book will go until the reaching of sea, and the second will then finish the journey up.
